Smithfield Animal Hospital provides a boarding facility for dogs and cats.

We feed our guests according to your individual instructions and food preference. We will feed Hill’s Science Diet Sensitive Stomach or you may bring your pet’s regular food. Required medications can be administered once or twice daily. Prescription and supplements must be in original containers.

If an illness occurs during your pets stay, a veterinarian is on-call. We will make every effort to reach you at the emergency contact number you provide us with, and your pet will be treated as needed.

Canine Boarding

Our runs are constructed out of aircraft aluminum and assembled so there is no cross contamination between animals. There is a pull down bench which allows our guests a place to sleep off the floor. We require all dogs boarding with us be current on Rabies, Dhpp, bordatella (kennel cough) and an Intestinal parasite check. If we are unable to verify current vaccinations, we will perform an exam and administer any needed vaccines at the owner’s expense.

Feline Boarding

Our feline facilities are constructed from a polymer with interconnecting compartments arranged in a horizontal and/or vertical layout.

Each compartment has a raised look out shelf. Cats from the same family may be house in adjoining compartments. We require all cats boarding with us to be current on Rabies and FVRCP.

Testimonials

  • "I took my 12 week old puppy in today and was very impressed with the care given to him. The ladies at the front desk were so friendly and welcoming. The vet answered all of my questions, was patient, and really seemed to care about my puppy. Having been to another clinic in the area, I was pleased with not only the care, but also the value. Thanks for the excellent service."
